Privacy Policy

Effective January 1, 2021

This policy applies to the Sai Rhythms and Sai Speaks apps for Android and iOS (the "apps"), which serve Sathya Sai Devotional Songs and Divine Discourses of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. By using the apps you consent to the data practices described here.

Information you provide

• Account information: if you choose to sign in with Google or Apple, your name, email address, user identifier and sign-in provider details.
• Forms: Song Signup and Contact Us may ask for your first and last name and email address. To save you typing, they may be remembered on your device. They are not shared with any other app.
• Support messages: the text, screenshots, photos, PDF files and short voice notes you choose to attach to Contact Us or to a problem report, together with basic app and device details (app version, platform, device model, language) that help us fix the problem. Voice notes are transcribed on your device.

Cloud backup and accounts

If you sign in and use backup, your songlists, bookmarks, notes and app settings are stored under your account so they can be restored. You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time on the account-deletion page. Data that stays on your device, including downloaded audio, is removed when you clear the app's storage or uninstall the app.

Analytics, diagnostics and notifications

• Usage analytics (Firebase Analytics) help us understand which features are used so we can improve the apps. You can switch this off in the apps' Settings.
• Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics) help us keep the apps stable and may include crash traces, device and app information and a diagnostic identifier.
• Notifications you turn on (for example reminders or daily inspiration) use a locally scheduled notification or a messaging token to deliver them. You can turn them off in the apps or in your phone settings.
• App integrity (Firebase App Check with Google Play Integrity on Android and Apple App Attest on iOS) helps make sure that requests to our services come from genuine copies of the apps.

Advertising

The apps do not currently display advertisements or sponsored content, and we do not sell your information. If advertising is introduced in the apps in the future, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

Permissions

The apps ask for permission only when a feature needs it: notifications (reminders), microphone (voice notes and pitch practice), speech recognition (on-device transcription of voice notes), photos or files you pick to attach, and local storage to save downloaded audio and backup files. You can decline any permission; the related feature will not work, and the rest of the app keeps working.

Service providers

We use Google Firebase (authentication, cloud data, analytics, crash reporting, cloud messaging, remote configuration and App Check) and Cloudflare (secure relay of problem reports and protected content). Problem reports you send from the apps may be relayed to our issue tracker so the team can act on them. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy commitments. We do not share, sell, rent or lease your information to third parties for their own purposes.

Retention and deletion

Cloud account data is kept while your account is active, and for the short time needed to process a deletion request, protect the service and meet legal obligations. Support messages and attachments are kept only as long as needed to resolve the request, maintain security or meet legal obligations. See the account-deletion page for details and time limits.

Security

Information exchanged between your device and our servers is protected with industry-standard SSL/TLS encryption, and our services use authentication and abuse protections. No system can guarantee absolute security.

Local storage

The apps store information on your device (for example downloaded audio, songlists, bookmarks and settings) to make features work and easier to use. The apps' Settings let you clear or manage it, and uninstalling an app removes it.

The apps contain links to other websites. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those websites.

Changes and contact

We may change this policy from time to time and will place a notice in the apps and update the effective date above. Your continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy. Questions and privacy requests: apps@sairhythms.org.
